The Celtic's were in good spirits with both teams playing on the same day again, unlike last week. After watching the A's produce a thumping win against their semi-pro 'smoking hot' opponents. The B's who were looking to 'light up' the First Division and produce their first three points of a so far disappointing season.
The conditions were favourable to Celtic Beijing with the weather resembling a typical autumn day in the North West of England. Being the birthplace of new signing Daniel Martin, recruited from rivals Too Sexy FC. Some say he wasn't deemed sexy enough for Sexy FC!
Well, the lad did his talking on the field with a hat-trick on his debut. His first came after good work from the left-wing and a scramble in the box. Celtic's second came from great work down the right-wing with Franky Carter being the illustrator of an excellent move. Enda Winter's being on the mark to score his first of four goals on his farewell voyage for the Club. He has impressive stats down the years, buy him a pint and I am sure he will give you his scoring figures!
The Celtic's were then 3-0, not long after the second and the fans on the sideline were in dreamland. Then came another and another. The home scored against the run of play. That was the only blot on the Celtic's copybook in the first half, with their own nicely worked goal.
The Celtic's grabbed another straight from the kick-off to make the scoreline 5-1. With the wind in the away teams sails and everything looking rosy, veteran Jeffrey Young committed two bad tackles in quick succession. The first foul causing an unsavoury moment, in what was turning out to be a decent game of football. It was a real shame for the veteran after he had produced an excellent finish from another great move ten minutes prior. The hoops were then down to ten men with fifty minutes left of this high scoring affair.
Halftime and a few words of wisdom from the management team ringing in the player's ears. The team went to work and did not disappoint with their second-half showing. More goals followed and the game was safe after a further three from the boys in green and white hoops. Celtic Beijing was coming off the pitch worthy winners at full time with a scoreline heavily in their favour.
A few mentions:
Paul Fogarty produced an excellent performance in the middle of the park to steady the ship after halftime.
Enda Winters for his excellent service to the Club.
Franky Carter who produced an excellent performance in the first half and provided four assists.
The most improved player at the Club Justin Noutch produced an excellent fifteen minutes at the end of the game. Daniel Martin told me after the game, quote: " Justin provided the best service he had all game!" Well done Justin.
Alan Kelly who produced a 'managers' performance when needed in central midfield.
